RAW TALENT FASHION SHOW

Picture

This summer I participated in a fashion show with some of my works that I did this year. These were 4 crochet pieces exploring repetition in art and the artist nature. They are in response to the book Murderess by Papadiamantis which is a book about fertility and death in a religious centered society in a small island in greece, the main character Hadoula (the murderess)  After killing her own newborn granddaughter, gravelly ill with pertussis, she crosses the line from pity to what she believes is useful and appropriate action, the "mercy killing" of young girls.  I have used only wool on the 3 dresses and a combination of wool, fabric and embroidery on the last one. It was a really amazing experience very intense with some really interesting and fun people as well!
